Thirty students were injured when the bus in which they were travelling fell into a trench on the roadside near Kumadwati river bridge at Choradi village in Shimoga district on Sunday.

Students from Mandovi College of Mandya were on a three-day tour to Malnad and coastal Karnataka. They had left Mandya on Saturday and were on their way to Jog Fall when the incident occurred. Four persons who suffered serious injuries have been shifted to Nimhans in Bangalore. The others have been admitted to McGann Hospital here.
