Terror suspects Mohammad Asif and Shakil Mali were shifted to Hindalga jail from the Dharwad jail late on Saturday night.
Both of them were produced in a Hubli court where the judge remanded them in judicial custody. The two were then sent to Dharwad jail.
According to sources, some inmates of the Dharwad jail objected to the presence of the terror suspects in the prison, forcing the police to shift them to Hindalga jail.
The Dharwad jail inmates reportedly threatened that the duo would be attacked if they were brought to their jail.
Meanwhile, both the arrested have been lodged in separate sells at the historic Hindalga prison. The police have beefed up security arrangements at the jail.
