Manipal University has announced freeships and scholarships to deserving candidates appearing for the 2008 admissions.
According to a release, the varsity will offer freeships to candidates admitted to MBBS, BDS, BE and BPharm courses. As much as 100 per cent freeships are offered to candidates within the first 100 ranks of the merit list.
Admitted candidates with rank between 101 and 500 and with an annual gross family income less than or equal to Rs 2 lakh are offered 100 per cent freeship. It also offers scholarships to meritorious students across disciplines.
Three scholarships
MIT and MCIS are listed under the GE scholarship programme. Every year, 2 students each of MTech - Illumination Technology and MS - Medical Software get this scholarship. Manipal University has also instituted 3 scholarships for MCIS students in the name of late director Prof Harish B, for the students of MS - VLSI CAD, MS - Medical Software and MS - Embedded Systems.
The AICTE provides financial assistance to the GATE qualified students enrolled for MTech / MPharm courses. The Indian Society of Lighting Engineers offer two scholarships to the students admitted to MTech Energy Management and Lighting and two to the students of final year BE (E and E) branch, every year.
Maulana Azad Education Foundation offers scholarships to eligible girls who have secured not less than 55 per cent (aggregate) in 10+2 and parents income should be less than Rs 1,00,000 per annum.
