HAL Lock-Out Being Lifted
Bangalore, Mar 4
The week-old lock-out in the Hindustan Aircraft Factory was lifted partly today as a first step towards complete lifting of the lock-out in stages according to a top official of the factory.
Out of 50 departments, according to the spokesman, ten started working from today. As many as 2,000 employees including the supervisory staff and the essential services, returned to work.
Bloody Rioting In Karachi Colony
Karachi, Mar 4
A dusk-to-dawn curfew was imposed this evening for three-days in the refugee colony about six miles from Karachi after bloody riots the whole morning when according to an official statement, two persons were killed and 44 injured.
Unofficial reports put the number of deaths at 20 and injured near 200.

57 Cr Relief In Railway Fare
New Delhi, March 4.
Union Railway Minister Ghani Khan Chaudhury today responded to parliamentary criticism over the harshness of his budget proposals by announcing concessions in passenger fares and freight together amounting to Rs 57.50 crore. Of this, a sum of Rs 27.50 crore is in the field of passenger fares and Rs 30 crore in the field of freight.
Replying to the debate on the railway budget in the Lok Sabha, the Minister said he had decided to forego railway revenues to the extent of Rs 57.50 crore considering the plight of the common man.
