Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India Pvt Ltd (HMSI), 100 per cent subsidiary of Honda Motor Company, on Wednesday, unveiled its new premium scooter Aviator.
The Aviator would be available in two variants — Standard and Deluxe. The deluxe variant has front disc brake and 12 inch alloy wheels. It would be available in five colours —rebel red metallic, berry purple metallic, space silver metallic, mansoon grey metallic and pearl igneous black. The standard variant Aviator would cost Rs 39,930 (ex-showroom Bangalore). The premium scooter is set for an all India launch on Thursday. The Aviator is powered with a 102-cc 4-stroke engine and gives a mileage of 50 km per litre under ideal conditions. The Aviator is the fourth product from the stable of HMSI in scooter segment. The company is offering two years or 24,000 km warranty and three years optional extended warranty for the peace of mind.
Briefing reporters here, HMSI Divisional Head — Sales & Marketing N K Rattan said they plan to sell one lakh units of Aviator during 2008-09. He informed the company has a 54 per cent market share in the automatic scooter segment.
