He was speaking at a programme on unraveling truth behind ‘miracles’ organised by ISTI students chapter at SSIT college in Tumkur.
Some of those who claim to be possessing divine power or ‘god man’ deceive innocent people in the name of ‘miracles,’ he said. Even if some miraculous incidents occur, causes should be ascertained after thorough research, he said, adding that the public shouldn’t believe such ‘miracles’ without questioning.
He called upon the students to be rational and not to believe anything without examining.
Scientific truth
“It’s impossible to create anything out of nothing and if it were to be possible why do we need factories?” he said.
He elaborated on various ‘miracles’ like water flowing from empty vessel, flames on tongue, breaking coconut on head, sitting on thorny seat, sleeping on nail-bed, bare hand surgery, blade baba’s surgery etc.
He also demonstrated some of these miracles before explaining the scientific truth behind such so called miracles.
Siddartha Engineering College Principal Dr K Krishnamurty, Electronics Department Head Prof M Z Kurian, Training and Recruitment division Prof Shivakumar were present on the occasion.
