Lacking fifth bowler, says Dravid
DH News Service, New Delhi:
After a narrow 10-run loss against Delhi Daredevils on Wednesday, Bangalore Royal Challengers skipper Rahul Dravid said they will have to improve in the fifth bowler department.

"Today, we have leaked 50-odd runs there. Now, we are expecting the arrival of Anil Kumble. He is an experienced bowler and can make a lot of difference in that department.

“(Nathan) Bracken is also injured so we have to play an all-rounder extra. We have to look into that matter," Dravid said here in the post match press-do.

The former Indian captain said Delhi's bowling made a difference on the day. "(Glenn) McGrath bowled a fine spell upfront, and kept the things tight.

“Yomahesh too bowled well for them. We still made a match of it with just two set batsmen and that is a positive for us to take from this game. Delhi had a few bowlers who could make a difference in such games on the day, and they deserved to win," he said.

Dravid said promoting Praveen Kumar to opening slot was a gamble took in view of the big target. "Praveen was made to open because of the nature of the target.

“If he had got some 15-20 runs that would have made a difference for us on the day, but that did not happen," Dravid said.

Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag praised the batting of Gautam Gambhir and Shikhar Dhawan. "Those two batted superbly and gave us a nice platform from where the following batsmen could make a difference."

There was a light altercation between Gambhir and Jacques Kallis when the former was batting, but Sehwag did not wish to attach too much significance to the incident.
