Police martyrs were remembered on the occasion of Police Martyrs Day in Gulbarga on Sunday.
Participating as chief guest in a programme at DAR Ground in Gulbarga, Deputy Commissioner Pankajkumar Pandey paid tributes to the martyrs.
SP Manish Kharbikar informed that 715 police personnel had died on duty in the last year.
Out of this 11 were from Karnataka including four from Gulbarga district.
IGP (Eastern Zone) M V Murthy and the DC hand over compensation to the families of the police martyrs of Gulbarga.
Two minutes silence was observed in honour of the martyrs.
