Birla Sun Life’s new ULIP
Birla Sun Life Insurance Company (BSLI) on Wednesday in Mumbai launched immediate life insurance cover to drive sales of its new product, “Saral Jeevan Plan,” an over-the counter and unit linked life insurance plan.
The plan has a “Multiplier” fund option, which would invests in mid cap stocks, with an option to invest 30 per cent in large cap stocks as well.

IEEMA trade fair       ELECRAMA ’08
The trade fair of power transmission & distribution equipment manufacturers, popularly known as ELECRAMA, will be held in Mumbai between 18 and 22 January 2008. This was announced in Bangalore on Wednesday. Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association (IEEMA) has been organising the event for past 17 years. 

IEEMA has over 550 member companies who manufacture more than 95 per cent of installed equipment in power generation transmission and distribution indigenously in India, it said during a press meet.

Infotech’s new centre in City
Hyderabad-based Infotech Enterprises Ltd, on Wednesday in Bangalore inaugurated its global technology centre in Electronic city. Infotech Enterprises CMD BVR Mohan Reddy said, “This new centre is in line with our expansion strategy to grow in locations, which have the best talent in areas of our specialisation.” Built at an investment of Rs 40 crore the facility would house the company’s engineering design services, predominantly aerospace, avionics and rail. The company’s PAT in Q2 stood at Rs 25 crore.

HP’s enhanced BSM software
HP on Wednesday introduced a software to help IT firms monitor and manage business services to mitigate risk and reduce the potential costs of service downtime. The solution combines industry application, infrastructure and network management software to help manage overall business services.
