More Food Imports To Build Reserves
Patna, Oct. 24.
The Government of India proposed to revise their present food import policy because of the strain caused by failure of crops due to drought in Bihar, parts of Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Orissa, said the Union Food Minister, Mr A P Jain, addressing a Press conference here this morning.
“We shall have to arrange a much larger import from abroad now,” he said.
UN Has Averted Major Wars
New Delhi, Oct. 24.
Prime Minister Nehru today expressed the hope that the United Nations would be able to find a peaceful solution for the Syrian Tarkish crisis.
He declared whatever be the weaknesses of the UN there was no doubt that but for the world organisation there would have been one or two major wars to the last 12 years.

Line Of Control As Indo-Pak Border

Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has suggested conversion of the existing Line of Actual Control (formerly known as the Cease-Fire Line) in Jammu and Kashmir into an “international border” between India and Pakistan. This, in his view, is the “only practicable solution” to the 35-year-old Kashmir dispute between the two countries, Dr Abdullah said in an interview to Deccan Herald.
