Sufi band to perform in City
Saheer Karimbayil
Dhunn, a Bangalore based Sufi band is all set to rock the City with a mind-blasting musical show.

Dhunn, a Bangalore based Sufi band is all set to rock the City with a mind-blasting musical show on october 27 at Lido Mall, the trendy fashion mall of the City on Swami Vivekananda Road.

The show, aimed at raising fund for charity activities, will be hosted jointly by Lido and Oxfam India, the Indian chapter of the world famous charity trust Oxfam International.

Melodious rich voice of Ankur and Muneer, two prolific singers of Dhunn will be the attraction of the show. While Muneer sings with a mix of sufi and western, Ankur combines Panjabi music with western.  By blending these unique amalgams with the elements of Indian music, they present the music of Dhunn, the genre of new age and a mix of soft rock, folk and contemporary music.

These gifted singers, who compose, write, sing and perform their own music and play guitar, have also been on CNBC Awaz and have performed at Gold Coin Club.

Apart from appearing regularly on print media like Man’s World, Hindustan Times, Rave magazine, Nirvana, Women Fashion magazine etc., these artistes have been featured on Radio Mirchi, Radio City, MTV Super Select and Channel V.

“The entire money that is raised from the show will be used for charity activites of Oxfam accross the country in the areas of education, women empowerment, sustainable livelihood, disaster management and advocacy.”, said Devendra Misra, Resource Mobilisation Officer of Oxfam India.

Narendra Bhatia, the Operation Manager of Lido Mall said that this was the first venture of this kind by Lido to support the various developmental and welfare activities of  a trust like Oxfam India. “Along with charity activities, Lido gives best in class products and services to its customers.

The mall is a place where meet different life styles and fashion with various brands like Mark N Spencers, Next, Guess, Body Shop, Pantaloons, AND, Leecooper etc. We also have a four-screen multiplex coming up this December”, he added. The musical charity show will start from 8 pm on october 27 at Lido Mall.
