Bollywood actor Salman Khan appeared before the Rajasthan High Court here on Wednesday as per the court's order while granting him bail in a hunting case. “Salman Khan presented himself before the court as was directed by the court in its August 31 order suspending the five-year-sentence awarded to him by a lower court,” Hastimal Sarswat, counsel for Salman said.
The Bollywood actor spent just a few minutes in the court to complete the legal formalities. Salman had filed a revision petition against the District and Session Court's verdict of August 24, in which the court had rejected his appeal in the chinkara poaching case.
Justice H R Panwar of the Rajasthan High Court while accepting his revision petition said, “Revision petition involves certain questions of law for determination and, therefore, I consider it just and proper to suspend the substantive sentence of imprisonment awarded to the accused petitioner."Saraswat said that the hearing of revision petition usually takes 5-6 years.
