Tejas announces new carrier Ethernet platforms
Tejas Networks, which enables high-performance transmission infrastructure, announced the launch of its TJ2000 series of Carrier Ethernet platforms at the Carrier Ethernet World Congress 2008 (CEWC), Berlin. Tejas Networks is showcasing the TJ2030 (part of the TJ2000 series) at the Interop Event 2008 demonstrating end-to-end Carrier Ethernet Service delivery over a PBB/PBB-TE Aggregation Network. At this event the TJ2030 demonstrated the industry’s first implementation of ring protection based on ITU-T G.8032.
The TJ2000 is a series of compact nodes which is designed for use in the access/metro network. These equipment enable highly-scalable Ethernet networks through the adoption of PBB/PBB-TE. The TJ2030 is capable of catering to a wide range of applications segments ranging from Residential Triple-Play Services (DSL-based Broadband, IPTV), Mobile Backhaul and Enterprise Services (Point-to-Point & Multipoint Ethernet Services).
SanDisk’s new flash memory products
SanDisk corporation, makers of flash memory products, has announced the availability of SanDisk Mobile Ultra, microSD, microSDHC and Memory Stick Micro (M2) flash mobile memory cards, which are available in 2GB, 4GB and 8GB* capacities — the industry’s first premium mobile phone storage cards. The products will be available at The Mobile Store outlets in India by the end of August, 2008.
The SanDisk Mobile Ultra high-performance cards provide fast side-loading speeds. This means that users will experience accelerated transfer rates of digital files to and from their mobile memory card and their computer. In addition to speed, SanDisk Mobile Ultra Cards allow consumers to “wake up” the multimedia features of mobile phones by increasing the phone’s storage capacity for maps, music, videos, photos, games and other essential applications.
Fluke’s MicroMapper cable tester
Fluke Networks, provider of innovative Network SuperVision Solutions™ for the testing, monitoring and analysis of enterprise and telecommunications networks, has announced the availability of the new MicroMapper™ Pro VDV cable tester. MicroMapper Pro, now with a one-button “Quick Check” test, that reduces installation time and callbacks by simplifying the use of the test tool and helping reduce user errors.
Quick Check runs a full wiremap test for twisted pair cabling that shows the type of fault (miswires, reversals, split pairs, and breaks) plus the distance to the fault. This reduces test time and speeds, troubleshooting when faults are detected. Quick Check is also easy to use. MicroMapper Pro eliminates the need for adapters when testing twisted pair and coax (F) cables. This saves time with faster transitions between voice, data, and video cable testing, and eliminates costly replacement of lost adapters. Analogue toning is included in the MicroMapper Pro. This allows installers to locate and isolate wire pairs during installation, and eliminates the need for a separate, dedicated toner in the installer’s tool kit.
LSI announces silicon-based content processing solution
LSI corporation has announced the LSI™ Tarari® T2000 series of silicon-based content processing solutions for high-speed networking applications. The T2000 offers 10 Gb per second performance on a single chip, breaking the one watt per Gb/s barrier for the first time.
Tarari T2000 content processors can significantly offload any X86-, MIPS or PowerPC-based processor in a network or server environment. This results in much faster content processing at a fraction of the cost and power consumption, a critical requirement for equipment providers. For high-bandwidth applications, two T2000 chips can be coupled to provide up to 16 Gb/s of throughput in a very small form factor. T2000 software can detect and load balance up to four 16 Gb/s PCI Express® boards, providing up to 64 Gb/s of performance for the most demanding network environments.
