Cherie’s memoirs get 1.5 m pounds
Cherie Blair, wife of former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, has signed a 1.5 million pound deal to bring out an “intimate” portrait of her family’s life at Downing Street in the form of an autobiography, reports PTI from London.
The book, which she is working on without the help of a ghost writer, will be published in October next year and is likely to be accompanied by a high-profile promotional tour of Britain and America.

According to Daily Mail, Cherie could make even more from the US rights of the book and a TV or even a film deal.

Gita, Quran at Bishop’s funeral
In a unique expression of inter- faith harmony, verses from Hindu scriptures — Rig-Veda, Upanishad and Bhagavad Gita — and the Holy Quran were recited at the funeral service of a prominent Christian Bishop in Reno in Nevada State, PTI reports from New York.

Noted Hindu Chaplain Rajan Zed recited Gayatri Mantra and other verses ending with Om Shanti at the funeral service of head bishop of International Community of Christ, Douglas Eugene Savoy on Wednesday.

Jim Carrey joins Myanmar protest
Hollywood comedian Jim Carrey released a video calling for UN action on Myanmar as monks protesting against the military geared up on Thursday to march on a world-famous pagoda, reports AP from Yangon.
