The International Music and Arts Society will present ‘Poems for the Piano: An Evening with Frederick Chopin’ by Anil Srinivasan on September 5, at 7 pm at the Alliance Francaise.
This piano recital is a dedication to Chopin. It will showcase several pieces from his incredible repertoire — three nocturnes, two preludes, Mazurkas, Waltzes and culminating with the brilliant Fantasy Impromptu. Each piece is preceded by a reading from Chopin’s letters and informal commentary by the performer.
Anil Srinivasan is a businessman who studied music at the University of South California and also at Columbia. He performs Western Classical music and also composes. His first composition incorporating the solo Carnatic voice of acclaimed young vocalist, Sikkil Gurcharan was very well received. Tickets at Rs 150 and Rs 50 are available at the Café in the Alliance Francaise.
