Alarmed by the frequent arrest of its leaders, the Bihar-Jharkhand Special Area Committee (BJSAC) of CPI (Maoist) has imposed a ban on the use of cellphones by its cadre.
Issuing a circular, the CPI (Maoist) top brass has asked its cadre not to use cellphones. “The control of communication systems is in the hands of our enemies and the reckless use of cellphones is making the outfit vulnerable. So, please don’t use mobile phones and don’t call on any leader’s cellphone,” the CPI (M) top brass has warned.
The development comes after the arrest of about 10 top Maoist leaders, five of them Special Area Committee (SAC) members and the other, members of the regional committee in Bihar and Jharkhand since its formation in September 2004.
The CPI (Maoist), however, has asked its cadre to work out an optional communication system or go for traditional method of recruiting messengers to pass information.
