The leaders of the Congress on Monday laid siege to the taluk office and opposed the discrepancy caused in the voter’s list.
The voter’s list in Ward numbers 12 and 17 have been deliberately manipulated. Different voter’s list is being given to the congress leaders and JD (S) leaders, the protesters alleged.
They accused Shivanna of manipulating the voter’s list and also accused Tahsildar Reshma Tahseen saying that the Tahsildar is not ensuring the smooth conduct of elections. Even the local officials have been favouring the JD (S), they alleged.
The protesters demanded that Shivanna should be suspended and a proper list of voters should be provided.
They withdrew their protest only after getting the assurance that the matter would be brought to the notice of the Deputy Commissioner and suitable action would be taken.
Taluk block congress President Munikrishnappa, former TMC president K N Jagannath and others led the protest.
