'Congress will come to power in Madikeri CMC'
DH News Service, Madikeri:

“Congress will come to power in Madikeri City Municipal Corporation, and three Town panchayats,” said District Congress Committee President Veena Acchaiah.

Addressing a press meet, she said “the coalition government’s row over transfer of power will have an impact on the urban local body election. Congress will come to power.”

BJP-JD(S) coalition have lost power in Kodagu Zilla Panchayat and Virajpet taluk panchayat. People are showing their inclination towards Congress, she added.

Ms Acchaiah said “in Virajpet taluk many outsiders are included in voters list. There is all possibility of proxy vote. Election Commission should allow only those with voters identity card to vote.”

KPCC Member T P Ramesh said “in Madikeri, voters names have been included in different wards, thus creating confusion in the minds of the people. Election officers should try to ward off these confusions.” DCC General Secretary V P Suresh and Mr B T Pradeep were present.
