Deputy Commissioner Subhodh Yadav directed the taluk election officers to brief up the security in Chikkaballapur, Chintamani, Gouribidanur, Bagepalli, Shidlaghatta and Gudibande during the local body elections on September 28.
In a meeting held here on Tuesday the DC told officers to take precautionary measures to avoid any unwanted incidents.
Sensitive booths
Of the 198 polling booths in the total six taluks, 86 booths are identified as very sensitive, 65 sensitive and 47 ordinary booths.
Counting centres
Counting will be held on September 30 in government colleges at Chikkaballapur, Gouribidanur, Shidlaghatta and Gudibande, while Government Poly Technic in Chintamani and National College in Bagepalli are identified as counting centre.
Security
In each sensitive booth, once head constable, a constable and a home guard will be deployed, said the district superintendent of Police T G Krishna Bhat.
In the six taluks, two DySPs, six Circle Inspectors, mobile squad, security force and para military squad are deployed.
The election staff should file complaint if any illegal activities like capturing or damaging voting machines occur.
Holiday declared
In all these taluks, CMC, Town Municipality, Town Panchayat offices and government offices will remain closed. Holiday is declared for banks, LIC office and educational institutions on September 28.
