Party supreme than the candidate
DH News Service, Kolar:
Union Minister K H Muniyappa said that stringent action will be taken against those who involve in dissident activities and said that all the activities of the party will be held under the leadership of MLA K Srinivas Gowda and MLC Naseer Ahmad in Kolar constituency.

Party is supreme than the candidate and there is no scope for dissidence within the Congress party, said Union Minister K H Muniyappa.

Speaking at a Press Conference here on Wednesday, he said that stringent actions will be taken against those who involve in dissident activities and said that all the activities of the party will be held under the leadership of MLA K Srinivas Gowda and MLC Naseer Ahmad in Kolar constituency.

At the same time, he requested the public to vote for Congress and not be baffled with the happenings within the party.

He said that the activities of Varthur Prakash cannot be tolerated as he had been involving in anti-Congress activities by encouraging some candidates to contest independently.

Justifying the ticket given to MLA Srinivas Gowda of Kolar Legislative Assembly, he said that no one else could be given the ticket other than Mr Srinivas Gowda.

At the same time, he said that no person is allowed to could break the rules and policies of the party.

K H Muniyappa also hoped the party of being successful in the upcoming elections as there have been many welfare programmes taken up by the party for the development.

The funds released by the Central government has been used appropriately for the development of roads and drinking water.

Indirectly referring to Varthur Prakash for supporting other candidates he said that no one can win in the elections by splurging too much money and luring voters through such cheap means.

Strict action has been taken against town and Village block Congress President Afroz Pasha and Begli Surya Prakash who also joined hands with Varthur Prakash.

Suspended

As many as 22 candidates have been suspended from the party who will be contesting the elections as Independent candidates, who were not given tickets in the party, said District Block Congress President N S Bisse Gowda.

Action  will be taken against the leaders who involve in anti-Congress activities. Former Minister Nisar Ahmad, Bandi Munivenkatappa, Channaveeraiah, Mangamma Muniswamy, Jakeer, Zameer and others were present.
