Rajkumar steers Presidency home

Rajkumar’s 82 helped Presidency PU College crush MES Degree College by 120 runs in the inter-college cricket tournament on Wednesday.

Brief scores: Presidency PU College: 225/6 in 25 overs (Rajkumar 82, Prithvi Ramesh 40; Abdul Bari 3-14, Jaggesh 3-26) bt MES Degree College: 105 all out in 19-1 overs (Satish 3-47).

BNM Degree College: 215/2 in 25 overs (Zeeshan 66, Mohan 63 n.o; Harshvardhan 53 n.o) bt Vijaya PU College: 192/9 in 25 overs (Kailash 63, Nikhil 62; Naveen 4-35).

Shah elected chairman

Jayant Shah was unanimously elected as the chairman and senior steward of the Bangalore Turf Club for the year 2007-08 during the first meeting of the managing committee on Wednesday.

Sindhu A K to lead State squad

Sindhu A K will lead the State women’s squad for the 37th Junior National women’s hockey championship to be held from September 30 to October 10 at Gwalior.

Nayeemuddin to lead State team

Mohammed Nayeemuddin will lead the State team for the upcoming 13th sub-junior National hockey championship to be held at Bhopal from September 27 to October 7.

Defenders: Rakesh R Gokak, I K Cariappa, Rajesh Kumar Kushwaha.

Umpires clinic at KSHA

Karnataka State Hockey Association will conduct an umpire clinic cum workshop on September 29 and 30 at the KSHA stadium premises in Langford Town.

The chief instructor will be Shri Kukoo Walia, who is the member of both Asian Hockey Federation and International Hockey Federation ( FIH ) umpire’s committee. He is also the Umpiring Development Officer of the Asian Hockey Federation. 

Hockey umpires, technical officials and coaches who are interested in taking part in the Clinic are to register their names between 8.30 am and 9.00 pm on September 29.
