Uniform pay likely for Central, state lecturers  
The pay revision committee set up by the University Grants Commission is likely to recommend uniform pay structure for lecturers of state and Central universities.
NSG told to reject India-specific draft  
The Arms Control Association (ACA) has asked the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG) to reject the revised draft proposal, that exempts India from some of its guidelines for nuclear trade, as it does not contain any meaningful adjustments.
Sharada Prasad passes away  
H Y Sharada Prasad, columnist, who served as media advisor to three prime ministers, passed away here in the capital on Tuesday. He was 84 and is survived by his wife Kamalamma and two sons.
EC convenes all-party meet  
The Election Commission (EC) has convened a meeting of national and state political parties here on September 8 to assess the Jammu and Kashmir situation.
Curfew relaxed in Jeypore  
The authorities in the riot-hit Jeypore town in Orissas tribal dominated Koraput district relaxed the curfew for eight hours four hours in the morning and four in the afternoon on Tuesday following improvement in the law and order situation.
