The religious event is expected to be attended by religious leaders from different parts of the country as well as activists of the organisations like the VHP and Bajrang Dal.
The state government, however, has decided not to allow the proposed Kalash Yatra in Kandhamal after the Kalash puja and instructions have been given to the local administration to this effect.
The BJD-BJP government in Orissa had already assured the Apex Court that it would not allow the Kalash Yatra which was scheduled to go around the entire state. “Additional forces have been sent to Kandhamal in view of the Sunday’s proposed programme,” a senior home department official told Deccan Herald here on Saturday evening.
Meanwhile, religious leaders from different parts of the state and outside convened a smruti sabha in memory of the late Swami here on Saturday morning. There was also a plan to hold a rally of the sadhus and religious leaders, however the police did not allow them, by keeping the assurance given by the government to the SC.
