Harshith, Simral sink records on final day

Two meet records were shattered on the concluding day of the KPMG-Cadet Bangalore City inter-school athletic competition on Saturday.

Harshith S of S Cadambi Vidya Kendra cleared 1.86 metres in the boys’ under-16 high jump to smash the previous mark of 1.69 metres set by Nikhil MF D’Souza.

In the girls’ 80-metre dash in the under-12 category, Simral Dinha K of The Best School clocked 10.7 seconds to dip inside the previous record of 11.0 seconds held by Praneetha Pradeep.

Results: Boys: U-8: 50M: Sidhant (Ryan International School) 1; Sumant (Ryan International School) 2; Taabish Ali (National Public School) 3. T: 8.0S.

Team championship: Ryan International, Yelahanka (16 pts).

U-10: 400M: Nishanth Sundar Raj (Vidyashilp Academy) 1; Arv-ind Prasad (KV Railway Colony) 2; Ankur Kela (Iventure Academy) 3. T: 1:11.3.

8x50M relay: Bishop Cottons Boys School 1; Vidyaniketan Scho-ol, Hebbal 2; The Brigade School 3. T: 1:03.2.
Team championship: Vidya-shilp Academy (14 pts).

U-12: 600M: Gautham (Christ Academy) 1; Aditya Shankar (Vid-yaniketan School, Hebbal) 2; Santosh (Christ Academy) 3. T: 1:54.4.

Long jump: Sirish P (Vidya-niketan School, Hebbal) 1; Sameer Coelho (St Joseph's High School) 2; Suraj Rao (Carmel School, Padmanabhanagar) 3. D: 4.24M.
