Based on a short story by Sarah Maitland, Far North is a story about two women in Tundra who have been segregated from mankind and also a fugitive who came into their world.
Saiva (Michelle Yeoh) and her adopted daughter Anja (Michelle Krusiec) live a hard but content life.
But with the arrival of a man named Loki (Sean Bean), jealousy and competition, they had never experienced, arises between the two ladies.
As efforts to get the attention and passion of Loki builds up, Saiva started to feel neglected.
She is also shocked when Anja tells her that she has decided to leave with Loki to seek a new life.
Saiva and Anja have fought against all odds to survive. But how will they deal with their biggest challenge now?
The casting is excellent. The name Michelle Yeoh may mean ‘kungfu fighting’ to you. Well in this film she is completely transformed. See it for yourself.
Director of the film, Asif Kapadia also did an excellent job as he captures the crystal clear Tundra with extreme long shots.
This dark thriller set on the beautiful white Arctic Tundra region, Far North gives you a different cinematic theme that you can really appreciate.
