Zhang Yining of China won the Olympic gold medal in the table tennis women's singles on Friday. Zhang beat compatriot Wang Nan 8-11, 13-11, 11-8, 11-8, 11-3. China made it a clean sweep as Guo Yue won the bronze. Guo defeated Li Jia Wei of Singapore 11-6, 14-12, 9-11, 7-11, 11-3, 11-4 for the bronze.
