Bosch Limited edged past Bosch Engineering by a lone goal to lift the 9th Indo-German Chamber of Commerce (IGCC) football title at the Bangalore Palace grounds here on Sunday.

Coming into the summit clash on the back of a fine show in the group stages, the two teams belonging to the same parent company, Bosch, ensured that it was a tie that kept the spectators on the edge of their seats.

Playing a high tempo game in a reduced playing field, the teams found it difficult to stitch passes and find a way through the opposition defence. While the boys from Bosch Limited ensured that they played in numbers on both ends of the park, the engineers threw men into attack, leaving their goal largely at the custodian’s mercy for a long phase.

And one such a mistake cost them dear as Bosch’s Arun Senior capitalised on the error to find his team-mate Arjun, who took a touch to get the ball on to his shooting leg and placed the ball past the goalkeeper to score the opening goal in the opening half.

While the football tournament was a reason that saw 20 German companies depute their teams for the ninth edition of the competition, the platform was also used by these entities to showcase their products. Ozone FC, a city-based football team, had a training camp being organised on the sidelines of the meet.
