The drinking water projects would come up at Surpur, Muddebihal, Jewargi, Hubli-Dharwad, Bydagi, Sandur, Shikaripura, Kunigal, Shimoga, Gundlupet, Hunsur, Tumkur city, Chikkaballapur and Ramanagara.
UGD projects will be taken up at Turuvekere, Kolar, Nagamangala, Hosadurga and Magadi. The Cabinet decided to restore the government engineering college from the present academic year in Hoovinahadagali. The college, last year, had been shifted from Hoovinahadagali to Bellary city following lack of sufficient intake.
Decisions
* 350 additional seats in paramedical courses in 17 institutions approved
* Work on Rs 232 crore Suvarna Vidhana Soudha in Belgaum to commence soon and completed within one and half years
* Retired naval personnel to be appointed for Coastal Security Force. A total of 60 personnel to be recruited including operators to run speed boats.
* Rs two crore grant for Coastal Development
