The animal had raided villages in the surroundings of a private resort, for the last 10 days and had killed many cattle.<br /><br />On Sunday morning, it was learnt that the animal has taken refuge in the sugarcane field of Nanjappa at N Belathur. On receiving the information, veterinarian attached to Forest Department Dr Nagaraj arrived at the spot and tranquilised the animal. After one-and-a-half hours, the animal was found in an unconscious state at the field.
