<p>A three-member students team (junior category) had participated in the Olympiad which concluded today, Dr Aniket Sule, academic coordinator of the Indian Astronomy Programme said here.<br /><br />While Sharad Mirani (Ahmedabad) and R Sasibhushan Bharadwaj (Hyderabad) bagged gold medals, Pritish Patil (Nashik) won the silver medal, he said today.<br /><br />The team was lead by Dr Manojendu Choudhury from Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education in Mumbai and Hemant Mone of Aakash Mitra Mandal in Thane district.<br /><br />A total of 19 teams from 17 countries participated in the Olympiad including China, Korea, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Italy, Indonesia and Thailand amongst others, Sule said.<br /><br />The competition consists of tests in astrophysical theory, astronomical data analysis and night sky observation.</p>
