<p>While the mock run is expected to be conducted in the middle of this month, BMRCL has also stepped on the pedal to speed up the construction work to meet the proposed December deadline for commissioning of Reach-1 (Byappanahalli to Chinnaswamy Stadium).<br /><br />Though only 47 per cent of the overall work is complete at the Byappanahalli depot, BMRCL is confident of completing crucial/functional part of the construction for the December commissioning so that the Reach-1 can function.<br /><br />The entire depot will be completed in March 2011. Also, the signalling work is attaining some progress, they said, adding that Alstom India Project Limited, Alstom, France and Thales, Spain have been awarded the project.<br /><br />Electric traction work<br /><br />Similarly, the electric traction work is picking up pace with ABB India Limited working on it since November 2009 and Samsung STS, Korea and Kalindi Rail Nirman Engineering are working on the automatic fare collection system.<br /><br />Further, a contract agreement has been signed with EGIS Rail India for independent safety assessment of the signalling and train control systems for the entire metro rail project.<br /><br />Moreover, even amid speculations and assessments suggesting that the Corporation might miss the reach-1 deadline, BMRCL is attaining significant progress on Reach-2, Reach-3, 3A, Reach 4, 4A.<br /><br />On Reach-2 –– Magadi Road to Mysore Road –– as many as 860 piles have been completed of the 1,104; 73 of the 241 piers and 564 of the 2,106 segments have been casted. About 81 per cent of the of piling work is complete on the Vijayanagar, Hosahalli and Tollgate stations on the reach, while 64 per cent of it is complete on Magadi Road, Deepanjali Nagar and Mysore Road are done.<br /><br />On Reach –3 (Swastik to Yeshwanthpur), a total of 728 piles out of 961 are complete, 62 piers of the 205 are cast and segments launching is in progress. <br /><br />Partially complete<br /><br />About 33 per cent of the work is complete on the Kuvempu Road, Rajajinagar and Malleswaram stations, while 35 per cent is completed in Yeshwanthpur, Mahalakshmi and Soap factory stations.<br /><br />Reach-3A (Yeshwanthpur to Peenya depot) has also gathered significant pace with 175 piles out of 944 complete, 25 pile caps completed out of 191 and 27 segment casting of 1,280 done while five test piles have been completed on Reach-3B (Peenya village station to Hesarghatta cross station).<br /><br />Piles, piers, segments<br /><br />Similarly, 553 piles have been completed out of 588; 84 piers out of 147 and 807 segments out of 1,259 have been casted on Reach-4 (K R Market - R V Road). <br /><br />About 60 per cent, 49 per cent, 37 per cent of work are completed respectively on the K R Road, Lalbagh and South End Circle stations. About 48 per cent of the work is completed on the R V Road and Jayanagar stations.<br /><br />On Reach –4A (R V Road to Puttenahalli Cross), three test piles and 44 piles have been completed out of 540, while one pile cap out of 141 has been completed.</p>
