Under the Housing Board Department, the project will provide 900 ground-plus-two houses in the slum for the residents.
During the construction of the pukka houses, the families residing there will be given temporary accommodation in the vicinity.
The project will be officially inaugurated by Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa this month.
The total proposed cost for the housing project in the entire region is placed at Rs 2,089 crore.
