VVN Degree College witnessed a festive atmosphere and colourful competitions at ‘Aakarsh VVN 2016’, the inter-college fest, which was held recently. The fest had different competitions ranging from traditional ‘Kolata’ and recitation of ‘Ashtapadis’ from ‘Geeta Govinda’ to fashion shows.

The fest was inaugurated by Laxmi Chandrashekar, Founder of Kriyative Theatre. The `Concourse D’Anchorage’ tested the communication skills of the students and evoked a jubilant response from the audience. A crowd was seen at the registration corner for Business Quiz and Best Manager events. Vinutha, a participant of the Best Manager, said, “The interview part was tough as the judges drilled the participants to test their confidence, stress management and presentation.” The Business Quiz master was Vinay Mudaliyar and the event saw the audience bagging the maximum number of chocolates.

The ‘Ashtapadi’ event saw many contestants singing melodiously with lucid articulation. ‘Kolata’, with all its rhyme and rhythm, had some popular Kannada songs such as  ‘Cheluvayya Cheluvoo Tane Tandana….’ and ‘Moodalseeme Yolu Moodibartane….’

During the fashion show, the Maruthi Sabhangana was packed with students ready to watch the contestants walk the ramp. First round saw the participants in ethnic wear and the second round in Western wear. Girls decked in traditional Rajasthani, Gujarati, Kodava and Kerala outfits looked gorgeous as they walked the ramp.
