<p>A police spokesperson said the two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were on duty at a road patrol post at Tetelitol in Golaghat district in eastern Assam late Sunday.<br /><br />“Probably the two got engaged in a verbal duel and fired at each other with their service weapons,” a senior police official said.<br /><br />Trooper Rugnesh Singh from Rajasthan died on the spot while Venkatesh Berlu from Andhra Pradesh was admitted to a local hospital with bullet injuries on his chest. Venkatesh succumbed to his injuries early Monday.<br /></p>
