Forum condemns Krishna tribunal verdict

The activists of the Narayana Gowda faction staged a demonstration in front of Mahatma Gandhi’s bust near the Law Courts on Monday. The protesters alleged that the state was denied of its rights for additional 100 tmc water from Krishna river.

It would have solved the drinking water crisis in the North Karnataka and also helped irrigation facility for more agricultural land. They urged the state government to file a review petition before the court. City president of Vedike Kiran Gowda and others led the protest.

The protesters also urged the state government to implement the Sarojini Mahishi report providing 80 per cent reservation in government jobs for people from State.

Action sought

Meanwhile, the members of Dalit, Backward and Minorities Coordination Forum, Karnataka Dalita Vedike, Dalita Sangharsha Samithi and Karnataka State Backward Classes Awareness Forum staged a protest condemning the atrocity on Dalit family in Naganahalli in Mysore taluk. The activists urged the district administration for arrest of people responsible for assault and atrocity on a Dalit family in the Naganahalli village.
