<p>Terming the final allocation of water to the City under the Cauvery Tribunal Board as ‘ridiculous,’ he said it came to a mere 0.5 TMC as against the government’s approved allocation of 14.52 TMC. The State government had requested for 30 TMC of water for the City, he pointed out.<br /><br />The total allocation made for the entire State worked out to only 1.75 TMC, the former Chairman lamented. <br /><br />Presenting alternative solutions to redress the water crisis he suggested for channelling Cauvery water running along the Vrushabhavathy valley to the irrigation channels of the Krishnaraja Sagar Dam. No pumping was required and the water supply is transmitted by gravity, he added.</p>
