Pro-Telangana students boycott exams

Majority of the students at Kakatiya University boycotted the exams of MBA, LLB and LLM and staged demonstrations and road-blockades in Warangal town in support of their demands.

According to sources, over 9,000 students registered for the exams but many of the students did not appear for the same in Warangal. "No students appeared for the exams on the KU campus while other centres recorded low attendance," they said.

The KUJAC had given a call to boycott examinations till separate Telangana Bill is introduced in the Parliament and wanted the University authorities to postpone the exams.
The slogan raising students, after boycotting the exams, took out a rally towards the SP’s office in Warangal but were prevented by the police personnel who dispersed them using mild lathi-charge.

Similarly, a large number of students who organised rallies in Nizamabad tore and burnt their hall-tickets. However, the University officials of Kakatiya and Telangana have made it clear that all the exams would be conducted as per the schedule.

Meanwhile, students also held protests at the Osmania University campus here demanding the postponement of MBA exams scheduled from tomorrow.
Majority of the pro-Telangana students have been boycotting the Osmania University’s PG exams that began on January 20.
