"Mass street protests in Egypt clearly shows the will of the people that they want their president to quit...We want that transition of the government should be in accordance with the wishes of the Egyptians and there should be minimum interference of outside powers," Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind chief Maulana Mehmood Madni told PTI here.

According to Jamaat-e-Islami Hind, Mubarak's ouster is the only solution to end the crisis in the African nation.

"We demand that Mubarak should step down immediately," Jamaat-e-Islami Hind spokesperson S Q R Ilyas said.
Student's Islamic Organisation of India said they also want Mubarak to step down.

"We are of the view that Mubarak should step down immediately," SIOI president Mohammed Azharuddin said.

The organisation had recently held a demonstration outside Egypt embassy in Delhi, demanding Mubarak's ouster.

Shai Imam of Fatehpuri Masjid Mufti Mukarram Ahmed said Egyptians were not happy with Mubarak and that "anger is now seen on the streets of Egypt".

"Mubarak rule is now over," he said.

Jamia Millia Islamia professor Ahhrul Vase also held the view that Mubarak should go.

"There should be new beginning of democracy in Egypt," he said.
