<p>According to preliminary reports, the victims, who have not yet been identified, hailed from Goregaon suburb of Mumbai.<br /><br />Pune Rural Police Control said the victims were travelling to Mumbai in a Maruti Omni car when the tempo hit their vehicle from the rear just before 6 a.m. The car was thrown off the highway and fell into a ditch, killing the occupants on the spot.<br /><br />Three other occupants of the vehicle were injured in the accident and they have been admitted to a hospital in Nigdi, near Pune.</p>
