There was no need to constitute a separate pay commission. <br /><br />The Government can implement the recommendation made by the sixth pay commission and extend the similar benefits given to the central government employees,” K C Puttasidda Shetty, former MLC and general secretary of the district unit of High School Assistant Masters’ Association said here on Friday. <br /><br />Decision<br /><br />In a press meet, he said the association welcomes the decision of the state government to give AICTE pay scale for the diploma and ITI college teachers. The State Government should also provide for a wage hike for the high school teachers based on the sixth pay commission recommendation and end the disparity of salaries between the different category of teachers, he said. <br /><br />Misuse<br /><br />He accused few groups within the teaching community of misusing the name of the association floating a different forum and called upon the teachers to work in unison to achieve their objectives.
