Expo highlights nuclear threat

The exhibition, which is expected to conclude on Wednesday, displays gruesome pictures of civilian casualties that have occurred due to the nuclear bombs.

The first bomb that hit Hiroshima was dropped by a B-29 bomber named ‘Enola Gay’ on August 6,1945, killing more than 100,000 people and injuring thousands more. The second bomb was dropped three days later on Nagasaki resulting in the death of more than 70,000 people. 

Not only did the atomic bomb killed thousands of people, it caused medical implications such as ‘Radiation sickness’ and ‘Acute radiation syndrome’.

The photo exhibition also brings forth pictures of destruction caused by test missiles launched by countries such as USA, Russia, China and Korea. Also the disastrous effects of war between India and Pakistan, Israel and Iran, America’s attacks against terrorists have also been put up at the expo.

Seva Samaj Founder Aamithaab has said that the expo has organised to improve awareness among people about the threats of developing and storing nuclear warheads in the world. The expo remains open from 9 am to 5 pm.
