'Join students in mid-day meals, see their plight'

At the review meeting organised at Zilla Panchayat here on Wednesday, he said there were complaints of food being sub-standard. “Unless teachers check for themselves, they would not know the problems faced by children.”

Power lines

He was of the opinion that rainwater harvesting in schools have not been implemented properly.

He urged the authorities concerned to re-draw the power lines that run very close to the ground.

Not doing much

Another member Sonnenahalli Narayanswami complained that the officials at the Raitha Samparka are not doing much to provide information to the farmers. The Raitha Centres
must act as bridge between farmers and the government benefits.

Officials of various departments presented their departments’ progress.

Zilla Panchayat president Chinnappaiah called upon the officials to co-operate with the people’s representatives in implementing the government projects, successfully.

Zilla Panchayat members Shivaleela Rajanna, Shobha Prakash, deputy secretary Zulfikar and Backward Classes and Minorities Department district officer Allabaksh were present.
