<p>Nearly 1.2 lakh students will appear for the CET to be held across the State on April 27 and 28. The examination to test Kannada proficiency of non-Karnataka/border area students is scheduled for April 26.<br /><br />There are no changes in the format of the examination, as the Karnataka Examination Authority has decided to continue with last year’s formula. The four papers -- Biology, Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry -- will be of 60 marks each. On April 27, Biology test will be held in the morning session (10:30 am - 11:50 am), while Mathematics test will be held in the afternoon session(2:30 pm - 5:30 pm). Physics and Chemistry tests will be conducted on April 28.<br /><br />The Kannada language test for Gadinadu Kannadiga candidates (border area candidates) will be held on April 26 at 2 pm, and for Horanadu Kannadiga candidates (outside state), the test will be held at 4 pm. <br /><br />While eligibility for medical and dental seats have not been changed this year, the All India Council for Technical Education(AICTE) has mandated a minimum of 50 per cent in aggregate in Physics and Mathematics along with Chemistry/Bio-technology/Biology as optional subjects. <br /><br />The CET will publish the answer key on May 4, and the last date for submitting objections is May 10. The tentative date for announcement of CET results is May 30, as this will be subject to the announcement of results by CBSE and CISCE. <br /><br />For the first time in the last few years, students will be appearing for CET without knowing the seat matrix. Talks between the State government and private engineering colleges have come to a standstill, as both sides are unwilling to come to a consensus on fees. While the State government wants to stick to Rs 30,000 per annum, the private colleges have been demanding a fee of Rs 50,000.</p>
