Pavan of Baden Powell wins U-12 chess title

Varun S of Nalanda school and Rajesh S Shetty of Pushkarni school were placed second and third respectively.

Pavan emerged the winner of the tournament securing 4.5 points out of five rounds (points). While, Varun and Rajesh got 4 points and were ranked second and third based on their progress in different rounds.

While, Pooja Bhat (Sri Vidya Academy school) and Nithin S N (JSS Public School, SJCE campus), both who secured 4 points bagged fourth and fifth places in the tournament.  
A total of about 25 players took part in the event, organisers said.

Under category prizes, Chiranjan S was adjudged the best U-7 player and Chaitanya Ganesh best U-9 player.

Sumukh bagged the prize for the best youngest player in the tournament.
