<p>Sources said that the OC, whose term is slated to end this month, will also be moving into a new office inside Major Dhyan Chand Stadium near here.<br /><br />They said the Games organising body's present office at 1, Jai Singh Road will be given to the Home Ministry which may give it to National Investigation Agency (NIA) after it is vacated.<br /><br />"The new place has been chosen and work to develop it in office premises to accommodate our staff is on. We expect to move to new office by the end of next month," a senior OC official said.<br /><br />If approved by the government, it will be the third time that the OC term would be extended.<br /><br />The official said that a decision regarding extending the term of the Organising Committee for nearly three months has been reached by consensus among the members of the Executive Board which will be conveyed to the Sports Ministry.</p>.<p>"There is a need of extension as the probe in major contracts executed by the OC are still under investigation. Besides, the Committee is coordinating with CBI and CVC among others," the official said.<br /><br />The Organising Committee was first scheduled to be wound up by March this year but authorities decided to extend the tenure till June 30. After which it was further given three months time, till September 30, to finish its job. <br /><br />Meanwhile, the OC administration has decided to relieve 138 officials, including of IAS and IAAS, within two months.<br /><br />"We have to wound up the OC and hence we have decided to relieve existing staff. A total of 41 officials have been asked to quit by this month and another 91 have been told to go by November," he said.<br /><br />According to an official order, those leaving by the end of this month include Indian Audits & Accounts Service officer Shovana Narayan and Indian Administrative Service officer Jiji Thomson.<br /><br />Both Narayan and Thomson were working as Special Director Generals incharge of Ceremonies and Catering division of the Organising Committee respectively.<br /><br />"The decision to relieve officials was taken unanimously and in coordination with senior functionaries. We will be releasing other officials soon," the official said.<br /><br />Investigating agencies are probing several financial and managerial irregularities in the conduct of the sporting extravaganza held here between October 3-14 last year.<br /><br />Sacked Chairman of the OC Suresh Kalmadi and Secretary General Lalit Bhanot are lodged in Tihar jail for their alleged involvement in financial bunglings which led to loss worth crores to the exchequer. </p>
