Dog and bomb squads would also be pressed into service and senior police officials would be on duty during the four days of puja, the DGP said.

Each police station was asked to intensify preventive arrests and execute standing warrants to keep anti-social elements at bay, he said.

Number of puja pandals were expected to be around 2000 across the state.

"About 700 traffic police personnel and volunteers from NCC will be deployed in the capital round the clock", superintendent of police (Traffic), Princee Rani said.

Like previous years, the restrictions would also be imposed on passenger vehicles moving towards capital from mofussil areas, she added.
