<p>Finnish Minister of Economic Affairs Jyri Hakamies, who arrives on Monday, will inaugurate the centre—FinNode India—on September 27. He will be accompanied by a delegation of more than 60 persons, including representatives from the business community.<br /><br />FinNode is a global innovation network of Finnish innovation organisations which operates only in China, Japan, Russia and the United States, promoting innovation collaboration between Finland and its international partners. Through FinNode, foreign partners and businesses can reach Finland’s key public innovation organisations. At present there were 100 Finnish companies directly working in India and another 100 were working with partners. <br /><br />Nearly 20 Finnish companies were in Tamil Nadu with total employee strength of 16,000. Similarly there were nearly 20 Indian companies working directly in Finland. Finland sees in India a large market for its products and a favourable investment destination for its high technology industries whereas India views Finland as an important member of the European Union and a repository of modern technology.</p>
