<p>The order was issued by Judge Ravindra Babu while considering a petition seeking for a direction to award punishment under section 193 of IPC to Umesh, a doctor in the Forensic Science department in Thrissur Medical College hospital.</p>.<p>Soumya, hailing from Manjakkad near Shornur, was attacked on February 1 this year when she was travelling in the ladies compartment of a local train from Ernakulam to Shornur.<br />She was pushed out of the train at Vallatholnagar railway station on the night of February 1 by the accused Govindaswamy, hailing from Tamil Nadu, and raped on the railtracks. She later succumbed to injuries.</p>.<p>The petitioner alleged that Umesh had stated in the court, where the trial of the case is taking place, on October 10 that he had performed the post-mortem examination of the body of Soumya and not the head of the Forensic Department, Sherley Vasu.<br /><br />Umesh had also alleged the report submitted by Vasu before the court was a "tampered" version of the original report given by him, the petitioner said.</p>.<p>The prosecution had earlier submitted the post-mortem report by Vasu as the concrete evidence against the accused, Govindaswamy.</p>
