<p>Karthikeyan Murali of Tamil Nadu and Grahesh Y of Andhra Pradesh were placed second and third respectively.<br /><br />Speaking on the occasion, Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering principal Prof B G Sangameshwara urged Mysore District Chess Association (MDCA) to hold the tournament in their campus during the next year.<br /><br />Stressing on the importance of chess, he said it should be included in the curriculum. <br /><br />Observing that application of mind is very less among engineering students, he said chess would help students to move from bookish knowledge to using a practical approach. Former mayor N Prakash, MDCA president Anandatheertha and others were present.</p>
