If there is one festival that Raghu Mukherjee is waiting for then it’s Durga Puja.

Reminiscing his childhood days with Metrolife he says, “It’s one festival when a lot of Bengalee in the City come together and bond. I remember my father taking me to the pandal put up by the North Bangalore Association to see the idol and of course who can forget the yummy sweets and delicacies that are served on the occasion,” he explains. Known to have a sweet tooth, Raghu loves Bengalee sweets.

“No dieting for me during this time,” he jokes while adding, “I eat almost all kinds of food, but my all time favourite dish is the Khichidi and the tomato chutney and a mixed vegetable called chachchari.”

“The special aarti that takes place with the beating of the drums is one thing that I look out for. Also after the five-day ceremony, a lot of associations go in for the idol submerging in the various lakes in the City and because it can get crowded with people getting lost, a lot of such associations decide on a dress code, like a simple red ribbon tied on the arm etc,” he adds. So this year too, after a small puja at home, Raghu will visit the pandal and enjoy the music and dance activities organised for the day.
